🇨🇳NDRC and NEA convene Shanxi meeting to accelerate coal-mine restarts, boost output and secure supply
The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, with other agencies, met in Taiyuan, Shanxi to push faster coal-mine restarts and higher production to stabilize supply. Authorities ordered Shanxi to accelerate resumption of suspended mines and increase coal output while ensuring safety, requiring mine-by-mine restart plans, streamlined resumption acceptance and expedited return-to-production for temporarily idled mines. Resumed operations must optimize production and move quickly to nameplate/full output to restore coal volumes to normal levels. Officials mandated daily monitoring and dispatch to resolve major production and supply bottlenecks, and stepped-up signing and enforcement of medium-to-long-term thermal coal contracts to raise contract fulfillment rates. Provinces were told to identify emergency-supply mines, unlock additional domestic capacity and fast-track release of advanced coal output, with tightened supply accountability for major coal-producing regions to safeguard energy security and stable supply.
